P&O Australia Back To Hand-Me-Downs – Search For New Liverpool Cruise Terminal – New 42-Day Caribbean Cargo-Passenger Service

The Fairstar was the first of the hand-me-downs to join P&O Cruises Australia

Last week it was announced that P&O Cruises Australia’s first newbuilding would instead be allocated to Carnival Cruise Line, from whence had sprung the original design for this ship. Instead, P&O Australia will get the Carnival Splendor, which will be eleven years old when she is delivered to Australia. Meanwhile, Liverpool is looking to build a new cruise terminal further down the Mersey from the preent Pier Head facility. And in the cargo-passenger world, CMA CGM is moving its four 12-passenger French West Indies Line ships to a new 42-day round trip Europe-Caribbean cargo-passenger service from the new London Gateway Terminal on the Thames.

Seabourn Encore Delivered – Three Ships For Thomson Cruises’ Caribbean – Croisières de France to Disappear

Recenly delivered in Italy, Seabourn’s new 600-berth Seabourn Encore (above), the line’s biggest ship since the 793-berth Seabourn Sun (1998-2002), has now joined the Seabourn fleet and is on her way to Singapore for her christening by Sarah Brightman. Meanwhile, the Royal Caribbean and TUI-affiliated UK arm of TUI Cruises will have three ships in the Caribbean this winter, with flights by Thomson Airways from a network of ten UK airports. And a week after the announcement of the disappearance of Fathom as a ship operator comes news that a longer-established brand, Croisières de France, is also being assigned to the dustbin of history.

New Connection To Australia: By CMA CGM Container Ship Europe To Singapore & P&O Cruise Ship Between Singapore And Australia

CMA CGM Fidelio is one of eight 10-passenger container ships now running to Singapore.

Note: Hanjin is no longer in business, but CMA CGM now offers regular passenger service from Barcelona, Valencia and Malta to Singapore.

When direct cargo-passenger space between Europe and Australia becomes scarce, since Singapore has become a base port for P&O Cruises Australia, we can now offer can P&O Australia for connecting services between Singapore and Australian ports. Several sailings scheduled over the next couple of years will be available for connecting cargo ship travellers, as well as overlanders seeking to reach Australia.

Fathom To Become Phantom? – Jacques Cartier To Enter Overnight Cruise Trade – Crystal Esprit’s Caribbean

jacques-cartierThis week we have a look at the recently-announced demise of Fathom as its own ship operating company, although it will continue to exist. The line will operate the 704-berth Adonia to Cuba and the Dominican Republic until the spring of 2017, at which time she will go back to P&O Cruises in the UK. Elsewhere, a small ship called the Jacques-Cartier (above) is being converted into a 66-berth cruise ship for the St Lawrence while the 62-berth Crystal Esprit will be moved to the West Indies next year.
