Ponant Orders A Polar Icebreaker – Magellan Goes To Mexico – Carnival Australia Hits 1 Million Passengers

Image result for ponant icEBREAKERLast week Ponant announced its latest order, in this case for a 30,000-ton 270-berth Polar Class 2 icebreaker (above) capable of taking passengers to the geographic  North Pole. Elsewhere, Cruise & Maritime Voyages is sending its 1,250-berth Magellan to Mexico for the winter of 2019 and Carnival Australia’s seven brands have carried a million passengers this year.

Two New Ships For Holland America Group – Virgin To Fly Adonia Passengers To Barbados – Carnival Australia Reports To Los Angeles

This week sees two items of news from Carnival Corp & plc’s Pacific-based operations. First it has ordered new ships for each of Holland America Line and Princess Cruises. And second, Carnival Australia will now report to Los Angeles instead of Seattle. Elsewhere under the Carnival umbrella, the Adonia returns to P&O Cruises from Fathom, and will be based in Barbados next winter, with flights from London and Manchester by Virgin Atlantic.
